Porzellanmanufaktur Rudolf Kämmer will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2012.
The manufactory has had a lasting effect on the history of porcelain from Thuringia.
Production is exclusively by hand and leads to precious artifacts.
Company history is also family history. In 1907, Rudolf Kämmer acquired the destroyed porcelain manufactory
Müller & Co. and soon began producing luxury porcelain. Their figures and candlesticks quickly became bestsellers.
Kämmer knew exactly what customers wanted.
The company originally started as a painting company in 1862.
In 1946, Kramer & Kämmer salvaged same of the old models which had to be restored.
In the following years, renowned model makers such as Gustav Oppel, Hugo Meissel
and Franz Rauch formed 'Dresdner Bildhauer Schlesinger Single Figures and Groups'.
Since 1953, the company has been known as Rudolf Kämmer with its current backstamp.
In 1969, Rudolf's son Erhard took over the reigns; both he, his wife Christel and their sons Thomas and Hannes are fully involved.
A specialty of the porcelain manufactory Rudolf Kämmer is the production of soldiers dressed in historical uniforms,
such as generals of Napoleon’s army as well as English, Scottish and Prussian soldiers.
The figures are created with attention to fine detail to maintain authenticity.
Kämmer is a member of the
Thüringer Porzellanstrasse.
